Malotke, Senior Engineer and owner, has been a member of the ASTM E1527 committee overseeing the Phase I standard, and also sits on the ASTM E1903 committee which governs the Phase II standard, leading the way for necessary changes to the environment due diligence process.

Every party involved in the due diligence process, from the lender and realtor, to the buyer's and seller's attorneys, needs an environmental consultant they can count on. That consultant

should have the ability not only to identify the environmental conditions of concern, but also should be capable of discerning the applicable risk and be prepared to recommend the most reasonable course of action if necessary.
